Copycat
I have a little problem. All I want to do is read. And there is much to be done around here as we try to get this house in order before my little woman comes in just a few short months. So I've been trying to justify my reading by doing it in conjunction with other activities. Consequently I end up spending way too much time in the powder room and lingering over my meals. So, having finished eating my breakfast yesterday, I sat "waiting" for Matilda to finish, chin in one hand, this fascinating book in the other, when I noticed she had stopped eating and was sitting completely still doing this:

Ditto . . . Tilly is getting to be one of the cutest little humans alive. lol
And I LOVE the look of the book you've been reading, Kik. Homebirth is one of my favorite things ever . . . and after five of them (the last of which the midwife didn't make it to, so Vern and I were on our own!), I'm a big advocate. Do what you feel is right, and do what makes you feel safe. I'm so excited to see who gets to come to your family next!

Annalea: Great book! You should check it out. And I am 100% cool with the idea of homebirth should we ever be somewhere I was uncomfortable with my other options. For this babe, I'll be with the same midwife who delivered Tilly and we'll be at a birthing center within a hospital. To me it's the (very rare) best of both worlds since the hospital has all the bells and whistles, level 3NICU, etc., should it be necessary, yet no invasive policies like all the routine junk that most hospitals impose. We were so happy with how they dealt with Matilda's birth and how respectful they were of our desires. We can only hope #2 goes as smoothly (if a little more slowly, please! I want time to enjoy it! But I'm not complaining...:)
